About the Journal
|
CreativeArtPedia: Journal of Creative Design and Arts is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal dedicated to interrogating the evolving paradigms, philosophies, and methodologies within contemporary visual culture, design industries, and fine arts. Positioned at the intersection of aesthetic theory, material culture, and digital innovation, the journal serves as a dynamic intellectual laboratory for artists, designers, cultural theorists, and creative technologists worldwide. CreativeArtPedia prioritizes macro-level discourse, rigorous studio-based inquiry, and empirical case studies that address the socio-cultural, political, and economic implications of creative production. By bridging traditional artisanal craft with cutting-edge digital media and generative design, the journal fosters a critical understanding of how creative practices shape human identity, public spaces, and the global creative economy.
The journal welcomes high-quality original research articles, critical reviews, visual essays, and conceptual papers that offer significant contributions to the following thematic areas:
Visual Arts & Aesthetic Philosophy: Fine arts, contemporary curation, art history, semiotics of art, iconography, and critical theory in post-modern visual culture.
Industrial & Product Design: Ergonomics, sustainable design, materials innovation, design thinking methodologies, and the political economy of consumer goods.
Visual Communication & Digital Media: Graphic design, typography, brand identity, user interface/user experience (UI/UX) design, motion graphics, and animation.
Built Environment & Spatial Arts: Interior architecture, environmental graphic design, public installations, spatial design, and urban scenography.
Creative Technologies & Cultural Industries: Creative coding, generative AI in art and design, virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR) curation, craft revitalization, and creative economy management.
To ensure rigorous editorial oversight, thorough peer review, and timely dissemination of cutting-edge creative research, CreativeArtPedia is published semi-annually (2 issues per year, typically scheduled for release in June and December). Special thematic issues targeting emerging disruptions in design technologies or avant-garde artistic movements may be commissioned by the Editorial Board.
CreativeArtPedia enforces a strict double-blind peer review policy to maintain the highest standards of intellectual and artistic integrity.
Initial Desk Evaluation: Every submission undergoes a preliminary screening by the Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor to assess thematic alignment, originality, and adherence to academic or visual presentation standards. Plagiarism screening via Turnitin/iThenticate is strictly executed at this stage, requiring a similarity index below the journal's maximum threshold.
Expert Peer Review: Manuscripts passing the desk evaluation are anonymized and assigned to at least two independent international reviewers who are established experts, practitioners, or theorists in the specific creative domain.
Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editorial Board renders one of four decisions: Acceptance, Revisions Required (Minor/Major), Resubmit for Review, or Rejection. The final decision rests entirely on the conceptual depth, methodological rigor, and innovative contribution of the work.
The mission of CreativeArtPedia is to deconstruct and elevate the practice and theory of art and design within an increasingly automated and networked global landscape. Grounded in the philosophy that creativity is a vital human faculty for critical resistance, cultural preservation, and economic innovation, the journal aims to democratize creative discourse by providing an unrestricted, high-impact platform for global scholarly dialogue. Through the promotion of diverse methodological approaches—including practice-led research, visual ethnography, and historical-critical analysis—CreativeArtPedia seeks to empower creative practitioners, inspire academic educators, and shape progressive policies in the global cultural sector.
