LinguaPedia: Journal of English Language and Applied Linguistics is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal dedicated to advancing the frontiers of linguistic science and English language education. Positioned at the intersection of theoretical foundations and practical applications, the journal serves as a premier scholarly forum for linguists, educators, researchers, and policymakers worldwide. LinguaPedia prioritizes macro-level conceptualizations, rigorous empirical investigations, and innovative pedagogical paradigms that address the evolving dynamics of the English language as a global lingua franca. By bridging the gap between abstract linguistic theories and contemporary societal needs, the journal fosters a deeper understanding of language structure, human communication, and the socio-cognitive dimensions of language acquisition.
The journal welcomes high-quality original research articles, critical reviews, and conceptual papers that offer significant contributions to the following thematic areas:
Applied Linguistics & Discourse Studies: Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), pragmatics, sociolinguistics, corpus linguistics, systemic functional linguistics, and multimodal communication.
Second/Foreign Language Acquisition (SLA/EFL): Cognitive processes in language learning, psycholinguistics, bilingualism, multilingualism, and interlanguage development.
Pedagogy & Curriculum Design: Innovative English language teaching (ELT) methodologies, curriculum development, instructional technology, computer-assisted language learning (CALL), and language assessment/testing.
English for Specific/Academic Purposes: ESP/EAP curriculum frameworks, genre analysis, professional communication, and academic literacy in global contexts.
Translation, Interculturality & World Englishes: Translation studies, cross-cultural pragmatics, linguistic imperialism, post-colonial linguistics, and the sociolinguistics of English variations.
To ensure rigorous editorial oversight, thorough peer review, and timely dissemination of cutting-edge research, LinguaPedia is published semi-annually (2 issues per year, typically scheduled for release in June and December). Special thematic issues targeting emerging paradigms in applied linguistics may be commissioned by the Editorial Board.
LinguaPedia enforces a strict double-blind peer review policy to maintain the highest standards of academic integrity and objectivity.
Initial Desk Evaluation: Every submission undergoes a preliminary screening by the Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor to assess thematic alignment, formatting compliance, and structural integrity. Plagiarism screening (via Turnitin/iThenticate) is strictly executed at this stage, requiring a similarity index below the journal's maximum threshold.
Expert Peer Review: Manuscripts passing the desk evaluation are anonymized and assigned to at least two independent international reviewers who are experts in the specific domain.
Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editorial Board renders one of four decisions: Acceptance, Revisions Required (Minor/Major), Resubmit for Review, or Rejection. The final decision rests entirely on the intellectual merit and methodological rigor of the work.
Mission Statement: "The mission of LinguaPedia is to deconstruct the complexities of the English language and its applications within an increasingly interconnected global society. Grounded in the philosophy that language is both a cognitive architecture and a social instrument, the journal aims to democratize linguistic knowledge by providing an unrestricted, high-impact platform for global scholarly dialogue. Through the promotion of diverse methodological approaches and cross-disciplinary insights, LinguaPedia seeks to empower educators, inspire researchers, and shape localized as well as international policies in English language education and applied linguistic research."
